Hole 6 – English Gold
Par 4 / 386 Yards
To your west Eureka Peak was know as Gold Mountain in 1851 when a group of prospectors discovered gold ore on its Eastern face. Hard rock mining started immediately and continued with a limited amount of success until 1871 when the English expanded operations and by 1890 had dug 65 miles of tunnels in the mountain and extracted almost $8,000,000 in gold. The price of gold in those days was $11.00 per ounce.
Pro Tip: Pullout the long drive and your camera for the shot of the day. Eureka Peak is your backdrop for this spectacular view of the Mohawk Valley. Be careful with your second shot to a narrow green that slopes away from the player.
